ACME Solar Holdings Limited, through its subsidiary ACME Greentech Twenty Private Limited, has signed a Power Procurement Agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for a 300 MW assured peak power project with 1,200 MWh of energy storage under SECI’s Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE-IX) tranche.
The agreement has a tariff of ₹6 per unit and an effective date of October 6, 2026. The project is designed to supply renewable power during peak demand periods outside solar generation hours, supporting India’s growing requirement for reliable and dispatchable clean electricity.
Under the agreement, ACME Solar will supply 4 MWh of electricity per MW of contracted capacity for any four hours daily during non-solar hours. The company is required to maintain minimum monthly availability of 90%, in line with the terms of the PPA.
The project will combine solar power generation with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to meet the contracted supply requirements. It will also make use of night-time grid connectivity already available to the company, supporting the delivery of electricity during periods when solar generation is unavailable.
The project comes as India’s electricity system accommodates a rising share of renewable energy. Solar and wind generation can vary according to weather conditions and the time of day, creating a need for storage and other solutions that can supply power when demand is high. Battery storage can help retain electricity generated during periods of availability and release it later to meet contracted supply schedules. Following the signing of this agreement, ACME Solar’s portfolio of under-construction projects with signed PPAs stands at 4,310 MW. The company has a total under-construction contracted capacity of 5,380 MW.
ACME Solar Holdings has a diversified contracted portfolio of 8,370 MW across solar, battery storage, FDRE, hybrid and wind projects. Its operational portfolio includes approximately 3,123 MW of generation capacity and 4.96 GWh of battery energy storage capacity.
The company has in-house engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and operations and maintenance (O&M) divisions, which manage project development and plant operations. This integrated structure supports project execution and ongoing performance management.
The latest PPA adds to ACME Solar’s contracted portfolio and expands its participation in dispatchable renewable energy projects. By combining solar generation and battery storage, the company aims to meet supply requirements beyond daylight hours and contribute to the availability of renewable electricity during peak demand periods.
