Himadri Speciality Chemical Limited reported a 31% increase in net profit to ₹231 crore for the second quarter of FY2026–27, reflecting growth in its core businesses and an improved product mix. The company also reported strong performance for the first half of the financial year, with consolidated revenue exceeding ₹3,000 crore, EBITDA crossing ₹600 crore and profit after tax surpassing ₹450 crore.
Commenting on the results, Anurag Choudhary, Chairman and Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Himadri Speciality Chemical Limited, said the company had achieved new performance milestones in the first half of FY27. He attributed the performance to its business strategy, execution and focus on higher-value products.
The company said growth in profitability was supported by an optimised product mix, expansion of its core businesses and a growing portfolio of speciality and advanced materials. Investments in research and development, innovation, customer relationships and global partnerships have helped Himadri diversify its revenue streams and strengthen its market position.
During the quarter, the proposed merger of the Birla Tyres business with Himadri marked a step towards building an integrated tyre value chain. The combination is expected to draw on the company’s capabilities in feedstock, speciality carbon black, research and development, and manufacturing.
Himadri also strengthened its investment in Sicona Battery Technologies. Sicona has completed the acquisition of Advano in the United States, adding silicon-anode intellectual property, a pilot plant, research and development facilities, and cell-testing capabilities. In addition, Sicona secured AUD 45 million in funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency to accelerate the commercialisation of its silicon-carbon anode technology.
The company’s strategic investment in International Battery Company provides access to opportunities across material validation, cell development and commercial deployment in the lithium-ion battery value chain. Himadri is developing advanced materials, including carbon nanotubes, super speciality carbon black, silicon carbon and lithium iron phosphate cathode materials, with the aim of supporting domestic manufacturing and reducing import dependence.
