Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced four new HPE ProLiant Gen13 servers powered by 6th Generation AMD EPYC server processors. The systems are designed to support enterprise AI inference, agentic AI, analytics, virtualisation, simulation and other compute-intensive workloads, while strengthening security and simplifying infrastructure management.

The new servers expand compute, memory and input/output capabilities to help businesses handle growing data and processing requirements. HPE said the systems combine its server engineering with AMD processor technology to provide higher core density, increased memory bandwidth and greater connectivity.

The announcement comes as enterprises look to deploy AI applications while managing security risks and operational complexity. HPE cited McKinsey’s 2026 AI Trust Maturity Survey, which found that nearly two-thirds of respondents identified security and risk concerns as the main barrier to scaling agentic AI.

Krista Satterthwaite, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Compute at HPE, said businesses needed to translate investments in AI inference and agentic AI into business value without increasing operational risks. She said the new systems combine performance, security, management capabilities and reliability for changing enterprise requirements. Dan McNamara, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Compute and Enterprise AI at AMD, said the collaboration between the two companies would help customers scale AI applications while modernising existing workloads.

The HPE ProLiant DL585a Gen13 is designed for demanding AI and data-intensive applications. It supports up to eight double-wide PCIe GPUs, two 6th Gen AMD EPYC processors and PCIe Gen6 connectivity. Target applications include AI inference, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) model fine-tuning, analytics and virtualisation.

The HPE ProLiant DL525 Gen13 is a compact, single-socket 1U server powered by one 6th Gen AMD EPYC processor, supporting up to 256 cores. It features 16-channel memory and PCIe Gen6 connectivity. The system is intended for applications such as fraud detection, financial risk modelling, electronic design automation, simulation and AI inference.

For high-performance computing (HPC), HPE has introduced the ProLiant XD245 Gen13 and XD285 Gen13 servers. Both are designed to provide high compute density in compact rack configurations. The XD245 Gen13 uses a one-Open Rack Unit, four-node, direct-liquid-cooled design and supports up to eight 6th Gen AMD EPYC processors. The XD285 Gen13 uses a two-Open Rack Unit, two-node, air-cooled design for a wider range of data centre environments. The systems are intended for computer-aided engineering, weather and climate modelling, scientific research and financial modelling.

The new servers incorporate HPE Integrated Lights-Out 8 (iLO 8) and HPE Compute Ops Management. Security features include automatic self-encrypting drive capabilities, multi-person authorisation for sensitive actions, expanded post-quantum cryptography readiness and verification of critical server components through HPE’s Silicon Root of Trust.

HPE Compute Ops Management adds low-touch onboarding, compliance monitoring and near-real-time power capacity insights to help organisations manage their infrastructure. HPE said each new ProLiant generation undergoes more than 1,000 tests and 10,000 hours of validation. HPE Tech Care Service is also available to help customers identify and resolve infrastructure issues.

The HPE ProLiant DL525 Gen13 is scheduled to become available later in 2026, while the DL585a Gen13 is expected in early 2027. The XD245 Gen13 and XD285 Gen13 servers are scheduled for availability in 2027. The systems will also be available through HPE Financial Services’ 90/9 Advantage programme, which offers 90 days without payments followed by nine months at 1% per month, subject to programme terms.
