German fan and drive technology manufacturer Ziehl-Abegg has reported a positive response to its participation at Chillventa 2026, held in Nuremberg from October 13 to 15. The company presented its fan technology and solutions for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, heat pumps and industrial applications, using an interactive exhibition stand to explain their uses.

Chillventa 2026 hosted 1,170 exhibitors from 50 countries and attracted more than 36,000 trade visitors. Almost 60% of visitors came from outside Germany. Data centre cooling, energy-efficient building systems and heat pumps were among the key topics at the event.

“Global demand for efficient cooling technology is growing. Our fans put us in an excellent position in key markets of the future,” said Joachim Ley, Chief Executive Officer of Ziehl-Abegg Ziehl-Abegg used four Arctic animal characters to help visitors understand the different applications of its fan technology. Frosty the penguin represented cold-chain applications, Lumi the Arctic fox stood for building air conditioning, Koda the polar bear represented data centre cooling, and Magnus the walrus highlighted industrial applications.

The concept was designed to make technical information easier to understand and help visitors navigate the exhibition. Guided tours and individual discussions with company specialists gave visitors an opportunity to learn more about the company’s products, technologies and digital solutions.

Teams from different departments and countries worked together to develop the stand, its technical content and the accompanying programme. The exhibition programme also featured social media expert Felix Beilharz, who delivered two presentations in German and English. The sessions focused on how engineers, technical specialists and senior executives can build their professional visibility on business platforms such as LinkedIn.

The presentations addressed the role of communication in helping industrial companies share technical knowledge and highlight the people behind their products and innovations. “Technology need not be presented in a dull way. Our stand demonstrates how technical expertise and creative communication can work together,” Mr Ley said.

The discussions at Chillventa reflected the different requirements of cooling systems across industries. Data centres require high performance and reliable continuous operation, while heat pumps and refrigeration systems place greater emphasis on energy efficiency, noise levels and integration with other equipment. Ziehl-Abegg sees these applications as important areas for its international business. The company also highlighted the importance of working closely with customers and equipment manufacturers to address application-specific requirements.

Headquartered in Künzelsau, Germany, Ziehl-Abegg develops ventilation, control and drive technology. Founded in Berlin in 1910, the family-owned company has a global workforce of approximately 5,800 employees across 17 production plants, 30 companies and 114 sales locations. Its products are sold in more than 100 countries, with annual turnover exceeding €1 billion, according to company figures for 2025.
