Raghu Vamsi Group has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) to strengthen manufacturing capabilities in the United Kingdom and India and support its expansion into aerospace and defence. The collaboration will focus on advanced manufacturing, superalloys, single-crystal castings, supply-chain efficiency, workforce development and industry readiness. It will also support the group’s plans to establish a superalloys manufacturing facility and research and development centre in Telangana.
The agreement brings together the manufacturing capabilities of PT-PMC, part of the Raghu Vamsi Group, and AMRC’s research and innovation expertise. It is intended to improve manufacturing processes at PT-PMC’s UK operations and introduce advanced, digitally enabled practices. The partners will also explore specialised technologies and process improvements to meet the future requirements of the aerospace and defence sectors.
Vamsi Vikas Ganesula, Managing Director of Raghu Vamsi Group, said the agreement would help the company develop manufacturing capabilities using AMRC’s expertise in advanced manufacturing and single-crystal castings. He said the collaboration would support the planned superalloys facility in Telangana and contribute to the development of the state’s capabilities in the sector.
The partnership will also examine ways to improve supply-chain links between the UK and India. AMRC will assess logistics, carbon impact and inventory associated with the movement of materials between the two countries. The companies will explore measures to improve efficiency and prepare PT-PMC for relevant aerospace and defence industry accreditations.
Rushabh Shah of the University of Sheffield AMRC said the partnership would support Raghu Vamsi Group’s expansion in South Yorkshire and help its Indian operations serve customers seeking locally delivered manufacturing capabilities backed by global expertise. He also highlighted opportunities to extend advanced manufacturing knowledge to small and medium-sized enterprises and suppliers.
Workforce development is another focus area. PT-PMC has invested in four apprentices who began their programmes on September 1, 2026. Through its collaboration with the AMRC Training Centre, the company plans to explore further opportunities for specialised apprenticeships, technical training and workforce upskilling across its UK operations. The MoU will remain in effect for an initial period of three years, unless extended or terminated earlier by mutual agreement. Specific projects, work packages and funding arrangements will be covered under separate agreements.
