The 14th edition of OSH India 2026, organised by Informa Markets in India, is bringing workplace safety, occupational health, technology and regulatory developments into focus as Indian industry expands and adopts more automated and connected processes. Being held from October 7 to 9 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, the three-day exhibition features more than 300 exhibiting brands, over 9,000 visitors, 150+ delegates and 50 speakers, with participation from more than 13 countries including the USA, China, Japan, the UAE, Malaysia, Belgium, South Korea, the UK, France, Germany, Taiwan and Spain.

The event is addressing the changing requirements of workplace safety, with artificial intelligence, robotics, wearables, smart PPE and connected safety systems emerging as key areas of interest. Regulatory reform and preventive occupational healthcare are also shaping discussions around workplace safety and worker wellbeing.

Akash Pandurang Fundkar, Minister of Labour, Government of Maharashtra, said, “OSH India provides an important forum for the industry to come together on workplace safety, while also supporting Maharashtra’s broader vision of industrial growth and employment generation.”

Vrunda Manohar Desai, IRS, Textile Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, said workplace safety must be integrated into manufacturing and investment decisions. She highlighted the role of technical textiles in addressing risks related to dust, noise, heat and chemicals, as well as the growing use of protective clothing and equipment.

According to industry estimates cited at the event, India’s PPE market is expected to grow from approximately US$2.42 billion in 2026 to US$4.84 billion by 2033. Prashant Patil, IAS, Deputy Director General of Maritime Administration, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, said India’s maritime sector, with nearly 3.25 lakh Indian seafarers, requires continued investment in safety equipment, digital systems and worker welfare.

Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets in India, said, “Occupational safety in India is moving from being viewed largely as a compliance requirement to becoming an integral part of business continuity, workforce wellbeing and operational performance.”

The exhibition includes the Machine and Component Pavilion, Start-up Pavilion, Training Zone and Live Demonstrations. Participating brands include Karam Safety, Venus Safety & Health, Udyogi, PERF, Rameshwar, Aktion Safety, Mallcom, HS International, DPL, FUEL, Torpedo, Woodland, Allen Cooper and Bisonlife. The OSH India 2026 Conference, themed “Preparing Now for the Future of Workplace Safety and Health”, covers labour codes, fall protection, fire prevention, protective textiles, electrical safety, occupational health, psychosocial wellbeing and predictive safety.

The event is supported by organisations including the Directorate of Industrial Safety & Health, Government of Maharashtra, Indian Technical Textile Association, Safety Appliances Manufacturers Association and National Safety Council of India. With manufacturing becoming increasingly technology-driven, OSH India 2026 is providing a platform for industry, government and safety professionals to examine emerging risks and identify technologies and practices that can improve workplace protection.
