Cleantech Solar has commissioned 36 MWp of open access solar power projects for customers in the automotive, industrial manufacturing and engineering sectors. The projects are located at the company’s 200 MWp renewable energy park in Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu.

The commissioned projects will supply renewable power to customers on a captive basis for their manufacturing operations. The projects have been completed ahead of schedule and will provide clean and reliable electricity under long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs).

The latest commissioning strengthens Cleantech Solar’s presence in Tamil Nadu, where the company has been developing renewable energy projects for commercial and industrial customers. The company has a growing portfolio of corporate customers across sectors and operates renewable energy projects in several locations in the region.

The power generated by the new projects will be supplied to customers under long-term PPAs. The arrangement allows participating companies to procure renewable electricity for their operations while reducing their dependence on conventional power sources and supporting their decarbonisation targets. The 36 MWp projects form part of Cleantech Solar’s wider renewable energy portfolio in India and Southeast Asia. The company develops and operates solar and hybrid renewable energy projects for commercial and industrial customers.

Sanjay Gupta, Chief Executive Officer, Cleantech Solar, said, “This commissioning at our Thoothukudi park reflects the continued trust that leading corporates place in Cleantech Solar’s ability to deliver bankable, high-quality renewable energy solutions in Tamil Nadu. These projects have been delivered in record time and well ahead of schedule, while adhering to high health and safety standards. We remain committed to supporting our clients across sectors as they accelerate their transition to clean energy.”

The Thoothukudi renewable energy park is part of Cleantech Solar’s development programme in Tamil Nadu. The company has executed projects for customers from multiple industries and continues to expand its renewable energy capacity to meet the growing demand for open access power. The company said the projects will provide customers with long-term access to renewable electricity and support their efforts to manage energy costs and reduce carbon emissions.
