Optoma, a global provider of projection, large-format and interactive display technologies, is strengthening its presence in India through investments in technology ecosystem integration, software development and local manufacturing. The company outlined its long-term strategy for India and the Asia-Pacific region at InfoComm India 2026.
As visual technologies become increasingly integrated with enterprise IT systems, Optoma is expanding its focus beyond standalone display hardware. The company is developing solutions that combine displays with software, device management, connectivity and interoperability to meet the changing requirements of businesses and professional users.
A key part of this strategy is Optoma’s participation in the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP) community. The initiative will support the company’s efforts to develop secure, scalable and enterprise-ready visual solutions for Microsoft-managed environments. Future Optoma product platforms will increasingly align with Microsoft’s device, security and management standards, with interoperability and manageability remaining important areas of focus.
Optoma is also expanding its software portfolio through the Optoma Solution Suite, including Optoma AI, and the Optoma Management Suite. These platforms are designed to support communication, collaboration and centralized device management across display environments.
The company’s software roadmap includes AI-based productivity tools, cross-brand device management capabilities and open APIs for ecosystem partners. By combining display hardware with software, artificial intelligence, connectivity and management tools, Optoma aims to support organizations seeking more integrated and centrally managed visual technology environments.
Local manufacturing is another important component of Optoma’s India strategy. In 2026, the company expanded its Made in India manufacturing programme beyond interactive flat panel displays to include the local production of projectors and professional display signage.
The expansion is expected to improve supply-chain responsiveness, reduce delivery timelines and support local procurement requirements. Optoma said its teams are directly involved in quality inspections to ensure that locally manufactured products meet the company’s global manufacturing and quality standards. The locally manufactured products also support availability through India’s Government e-Marketplace.
Gordon Wu, General Manager, Optoma Asia Pacific, said, “India is a strategically important market for Optoma and an increasingly important part of our regional and global growth. Our investments in local manufacturing, software and technology ecosystems reflect our long-term commitment to India and our focus on bringing global innovation closer to Indian customers.” Mr Wu added that Optoma’s performance in the Indian market, including its position across key projector segments, provides a foundation for the company’s continued expansion into integrated visual solutions.
With India emerging as an important market for connected and software-driven display technologies, the company plans to continue strengthening its local manufacturing, software and technology ecosystem capabilities while supporting its wider Asia-Pacific growth strategy.
Optoma develops visual display products for home and professional applications. Its portfolio includes projectors, Creative Touch interactive displays and direct-view LED (dvLED) displays designed for a range of environments. The company’s products are used in conference rooms, classrooms, digital signage, corporate spaces, houses of worship, retail outlets, simulation environments and control rooms. Optoma Technology India Pvt. Ltd. is a subsidiary of Optoma Corp and provides the company’s visual display solutions to the Indian market.
