Vaneera Industries Limited, a 51% subsidiary of Garg Furnace Limited, has commissioned Phase-I of its new alloy steel forgeable billets manufacturing facility in Ludhiana, Punjab. The plant commenced operations on August 21, 2026, marking an important step in the company’s strategy to expand into higher-value steel products.

The new facility is focused on manufacturing alloy steel forgeable billets for industrial applications where consistent chemistry and quality are critical. The investment forms part of Vaneera Industries’ broader plan to move towards value-added and chemistry-led steel products.

The commissioning is expected to strengthen the company’s product portfolio and help it address rising demand for quality-sensitive forgeable steel from industrial customers. According to the company, the facility will support a shift towards products that can generate higher realisations and contribute to improved margins. The move also represents an expansion beyond conventional steel products into segments that require tighter control over material composition and performance.

The Ludhiana plant has been developed to manufacture alloy steel forgeable billets with a focus on product consistency and quality. Alloy steel is used across a range of industrial applications where specific chemical properties and mechanical performance are required.

With Phase-I now operational, Vaneera Industries can begin commercial production while continuing to develop its capabilities in higher-value steel manufacturing. The company expects the facility to strengthen its position in markets where customers require reliable steel grades for forging and other downstream processes.

The commissioning is also aligned with the company’s objective of increasing the share of value-added products in its overall business. By focusing on alloy steel billets, Vaneera Industries aims to improve product realisation while building a more diversified manufacturing base.

The facility is located in Ludhiana, one of Punjab’s major industrial centres, providing access to established engineering and manufacturing clusters. This location is expected to support the company’s ability to serve customers in industrial and engineering segments.

Vaneera Industries is a 51% subsidiary of Garg Furnace Limited. The commissioning of the new facility strengthens the group’s presence in the steel manufacturing sector and expands its capabilities in specialized steel products. The company’s move into alloy steel forgeable billets comes at a time when industrial users are seeking materials with consistent chemistry, dependable quality and application-specific properties. Such requirements are particularly important in sectors where steel billets undergo further forging and processing.

The start of Phase-I operations marks the beginning of the company’s next stage of growth. Vaneera Industries intends to build on the newly established manufacturing capability and pursue opportunities in value-added steel products. The company said the facility represents a chemistry-led step forward in its manufacturing strategy and is expected to contribute to stronger realisations, improved margins and long-term business growth. With the plant now operational, Vaneera Industries will focus on establishing production, strengthening customer relationships and expanding its presence in the alloy steel and forgeable billets market.
