Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group and one of India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, reported strong sales performance for July 2026, driven by robust demand across its truck and light commercial vehicle (LCV) portfolio. The company posted total vehicle sales of 19,590 units during the month, registering a 30 percent increase over 15,064 units sold in July 2025.

The company’s domestic business remained the key growth driver. Domestic vehicle sales climbed 33 percent year-on-year to 17,980 units, compared with 13,501 units in the corresponding month last year. The steady increase reflects continued demand from key sectors such as logistics, infrastructure, construction and distribution.

During the first four months of the financial year (April-July 2026), Ashok Leyland’s domestic sales reached 64,282 units, marking a 17 percent rise from 54,728 units recorded during the same period of the previous financial year. The medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) truck segment delivered a particularly strong performance. Domestic M&HCV truck sales rose 43 percent to 9,323 units in July, while total M&HCV truck sales, including exports, increased 47 percent to 9,809 units from 6,668 units in the year-ago period.

In the bus segment, domestic M&HCV bus sales grew 6 percent to 1,727 units during the month. Total M&HCV bus sales, including exports, stood at 2,461 units. While domestic demand remained positive, overall bus volumes were lower than the corresponding month last year due to reduced export shipments.

Overall M&HCV sales, including domestic and export markets, reached 12,270 units in July, representing a 29 percent increase over 9,529 units sold in July 2025. For the April-July period, cumulative M&HCV sales rose 11 percent to 41,694 units, reflecting sustained demand across key commercial transport segments.

The company’s light commercial vehicle business also maintained healthy momentum. Total LCV sales increased 32 percent year-on-year to 7,320 units during July. Cumulative LCV sales for the first four months of FY2026-27 stood at 26,659 units, up 23 percent from the corresponding period last year.

The July performance highlights Ashok Leyland’s continued growth across major vehicle categories, supported by improving market demand, a broad product portfolio and a strong presence in both domestic and international markets. The company remains focused on meeting customer requirements while strengthening its position in India’s commercial vehicle industry.
