Divgi TorqTransfer Systems Limited (Divgi TTS), a leading provider of advanced automotive drivetrain solutions, has secured a significant new order from one of India’s foremost passenger vehicle manufacturers for the development of All-Wheel Drive (AWD) systems for its upcoming sport utility vehicle portfolio.The order covers the supply of Interactive Torque Management (ITM) Assemblies, Electronic Control Units (ECUs), and Power Transfer Unit (PTU) Assemblies for AWD variants of the automaker’s mid-sized and full-sized SUV models. Production is expected to commence in the first quarter of FY2028, with annual volumes estimated at approximately 6,000 units over a five-year period.
The programme represents an important milestone as it supports the customer’s first Front-Wheel Drive (FWD)-based AWD platform for internal combustion engine-powered vehicles. The project highlights Divgi TTS’s growing role in delivering advanced drivetrain technologies and integrated vehicle performance solutions to leading automotive manufacturers.
The AWD system will be powered by Divgi TTS’s proprietary NexTrac platform, which combines intelligent software-driven torque management, electromagnetic actuation technology, and precision clutch control to optimise traction, stability, and vehicle handling across varying driving conditions. As part of the engagement, Divgi TTS will provide a complete drivetrain package encompassing both hardware components and embedded control systems, reinforcing its capabilities in end-to-end AWD system integration.
The introduction of AWD variants is expected to enhance the versatility and performance of the SUV range, enabling improved operation across diverse terrains and driving environments. The programme also reflects growing consumer demand for vehicles offering superior control, capability, and driving dynamics.
