Tiger Logistics (India) Limited has secured a new import break bulk logistics assignment from Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), further strengthening its presence in the industrial project logistics segment. The contract involves the transportation of 13 over-dimensional cargo units from Italy to India, with the project valued at approximately ₹4 crore, including handling and associated logistics services.
Each cargo unit weighs around 89 metric tonnes and requires specialized transportation planning, handling, and coordination. The project highlights Tiger Logistics’ capability to manage complex heavy-lift and project cargo movements involving international supply chains and specialized logistics infrastructure.
The latest order builds upon the company’s longstanding relationship with BHEL, one of India’s largest engineering and manufacturing enterprises. Over the years, Tiger Logistics has supported BHEL across multiple logistics requirements, including customs clearance, freight forwarding, warehousing, transportation, break bulk cargo handling, and movement of over-dimensional equipment.
The company is currently executing several projects awarded by BHEL during the previous financial year. In addition, it has successfully completed the delivery of 28 machine components in accordance with project schedules and technical specifications, reinforcing its reputation for reliable execution of critical industrial logistics assignments.
Handling oversized industrial equipment requires detailed route planning, regulatory coordination, port operations expertise, and specialized transportation arrangements. Through its project logistics division, Tiger Logistics has developed strong capabilities in managing such assignments across domestic and international markets.
Commenting on the development, Harpreet Singh Malhotra, Chairman and Managing Director of Tiger Logistics (India) Limited, said the new mandate reflects the confidence that large public sector organizations place in the company’s execution capabilities. He noted that industrial projects involving heavy and oversized cargo demand careful planning, technical expertise, and seamless coordination across multiple stakeholders.
The company continues to expand its footprint in project logistics, serving sectors such as power generation, engineering, infrastructure, renewable energy, capital goods, and government-backed industrial projects. As demand for large-scale industrial development grows across India, specialized logistics providers are expected to play an increasingly important role in ensuring timely project execution.
