Bosch Rexroth has expanded its LC-8X two-way cartridge valve portfolio with the introduction of three new nominal sizes — 80, 100, and 125 — aimed at supporting high-flow and high-performance hydraulic applications across industrial sectors. The latest additions strengthen the LC-8X platform’s capabilities in advanced hydraulic systems requiring improved energy efficiency, operational reliability, and reduced lifecycle costs.
The newly introduced valve sizes are engineered to support demanding hydraulic operations involving directional control, pressure regulation, and combined control functions. The expanded series is expected to be showcased at IFAT 2026, highlighting the company’s continued focus on innovation and sustainable hydraulic technologies.
Designed with a flow-optimised architecture, the updated LC-8X valves significantly reduce pressure losses compared to previous LC-6X and LC-2X generations. Lower pressure losses help minimise heat generation during operation, reducing cooling requirements and improving the overall energy efficiency of hydraulic systems. This contributes to lower operating costs while enhancing system productivity in heavy-duty industrial environments.
The LC-8X range supports operating pressures of up to 450 bar, allowing the valves to perform reliably under extreme mechanical loads and high-intensity operating conditions. Bosch Rexroth stated that the valves are designed to maintain sealing performance and operational stability even after as many as 10 million load cycles, making them suitable for long-term industrial applications where durability and reliability are critical.
Among the key technical improvements is a friction-optimised piston system combined with an integrated standard stem seal. These features help reduce internal leakage, improve operational consistency, and minimise energy losses within the hydraulic circuit. The enhanced design also supports greater component standardisation, enabling simplified engineering, easier installation, and reduced maintenance requirements for industrial operators.
Another important advantage of the expanded LC-8X platform is compatibility with earlier valve generations. Existing covers from previous models can largely be reused, allowing customers to modernise hydraulic systems without extensive redesign or replacement of associated components. This retrofit compatibility helps reduce installation costs, minimise downtime, and lower material waste during upgrades.
The company has also focused on sustainability improvements in packaging and logistics. Components are now shipped using recycled and shock-resistant packaging materials, aligning with broader industrial sustainability initiatives and responsible manufacturing practices.
With industries increasingly seeking energy-efficient and scalable hydraulic solutions, Bosch Rexroth believes the expanded LC-8X portfolio offers a future-ready platform capable of supporting modern industrial automation and heavy machinery applications. The company noted that the combination of higher flow capacity, lower energy consumption, and extended operational life makes the valves well suited for industries such as manufacturing, process engineering, heavy equipment, water management, and recycling infrastructure.
