Krishival Foods Limited has achieved a major milestone in its cold chain expansion strategy, crossing 15,000 deep freezers across its retail network to strengthen last-mile delivery and product availability for its ice cream brand Melt N Mellow. The company’s deep freezer network has grown significantly over the past year, increasing from 3,732 units at the beginning of the year to 15,490 units as of March 31, 2026. This rapid scale-up reflects Krishival Foods’ focused investments in building a robust cold chain infrastructure to support its expanding ice cream business.
The expanded network is expected to enhance product visibility, maintain consistent quality, and improve supply efficiency across a wide retail base. It also enables the company to strengthen its presence not only in urban markets but also in Tier II and Tier III cities, where demand for premium frozen products is steadily rising.
Krishival Foods currently serves more than 30,000 retail outlets through a well-established distribution network spanning Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. The addition of deep freezers further enhances its ability to manage temperature-sensitive products and ensure seamless delivery across diverse geographies.
Commenting on the milestone, Sujit Bangar, Chairman of Krishival Foods Limited, stated that the company remains focused on strengthening last-mile connectivity and improving product accessibility, particularly for its ice cream portfolio. He noted that the expansion positions the company to capitalize on growing demand within India’s frozen food segment.
Abhishek Puranik, CEO of Melt N Mellow Ice Cream, described the achievement as a significant step toward building a scalable and efficient distribution ecosystem. He added that the expanded freezer network will support sustained growth and improved market reach.
Krishival Foods has been consistently investing in its supply chain capabilities to support its high-growth categories. The company operates a modern manufacturing facility with a production capacity of 100,000 litres per day, supported by an integrated cold chain system that ensures product quality from production to retail.
The ice cream segment continues to benefit from favorable market trends, including rising disposable incomes, urbanization, and increasing consumer preference for premium and indulgent products. Growth in modern retail formats and improvements in cold storage infrastructure are further driving category expansion. Looking ahead, Krishival Foods plans to continue expanding its cold chain footprint while deepening its presence across key markets and emerging cities, reinforcing its position in India’s growing FMCG landscape.
