Atam Valves Limited, a listed manufacturer and exporter of industrial valves, fittings, and boiler mountings, has received the API Spec Q1, 10th Edition Certificate of Registration from the American Petroleum Institute (API). The certification, bearing Registration Number Q1-5561, covers the design, manufacture, and supply of gate, ball, check, and globe valves for applications in the petroleum and natural gas sector.

The certification marks a key milestone in the company’s efforts to align with globally recognised quality standards and strengthen its presence in high-demand energy markets. It reflects the company’s shift towards a more structured and compliance-focused operating framework, enabling it to meet the stringent requirements of critical oil and gas applications.

With this development, Atam Valves has upgraded its manufacturing processes through the adoption of advanced CNC machining, enhanced testing capabilities, and improved traceability systems. These enhancements are expected to support consistent product quality and compliance with rigorous industry specifications.

API Spec Q1 is regarded as one of the most demanding quality management standards in the oil and gas industry, with a strong focus on risk management, product realisation, and controlled manufacturing processes. The certification goes beyond conventional quality systems and is widely accepted across global energy supply chains.

The approval is expected to support the company’s entry into new markets and strengthen engagement with major oil and gas companies, EPC contractors, and international clients. The Middle East and Africa have been identified as key regions for expansion, given their strong demand for high-performance industrial valves.

The certification is also likely to support a shift towards higher-value product segments. Engineered and API-grade valves typically offer better realisations compared to standard industrial products, which could contribute to improved margins over time. The company is also working on expanding its portfolio to include larger and higher-pressure valves, including products up to 70 inches for critical service conditions. In addition, Atam Valves is scaling up its WCB (carbon steel) valve segment, covering ball, gate, globe, and check valves, as part of its growth strategy under the API-certified framework.

Commenting on the achievement, Amit Jain, Managing Director of Atam Valves Limited, said the certification follows a rigorous audit process and reflects the company’s commitment to building robust systems and processes. He added that the recognition marks the beginning of a new phase focused on delivering reliable and globally accepted solutions to the oil and gas sector.

Established in 1985, Atam Valves Limited serves industries including oil and gas, chemicals, and HVAC. The company manufactures a wide range of valves designed to operate under extreme temperatures and high-pressure conditions, supported by dedicated manufacturing facilities and a skilled workforce.
